Sunny Foundation's focus is based around the empowerment of little girls. The foundation was started by The Kumar Family, each with our own stories of female neglect and mistreatment. It was seeing and living these stories that drove us to be the difference we hope to see in this world.

Below, we have provided some of our own personal stories to try and shine a light on the real-life experiences of people living in rural India, and what has driven us to begin this project. These stories, although difficult to share, are ones we want the world to hear, and are only a small part of what is a greater story in rural India. It is only through acknowledging a problem exists, bringing awareness to a problem, and then, thoughtful action, that we will see long-lasting change where it is needed most.
